Ans:- The three main components of the Earth are the atmosphere, its gaseous envelope, the hydrosphere, the surface layer of water, and of course the solid Earth.

(b) Give two geographical factors that influence the distribution of population.

Ans:- There are two geographical factors affecting the distribution of population:

(i) Landforms, (ii) Climate, (iii) Soils.

(c) Name two components of human development.

Ans:- The two components of human development are equity and productivity.

(d) Give two examples of tertiary activity.

Ans:- Features of Pastoral Nomad:

(i) It is a primitive subsistence activity. At some stage in history, with the realization that hunting was a continuing activity, humans must have thought of domesticating animals.

(ii) In this type of movement, depending on the currency and the quantity and quality of water, people move from one place to another with their animals.

(e) What is nucleated settlement? Give example.

Ans:- Centralized settlements in India are mostly seen in places where agriculture is practiced on a large scale. The Vindhya Plateau region, the paddy lands of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are examples of such settlements.
