Ans:- In 1881.

(b) What is Population Doubling Time?

Ans:- In geography, "doubling time" is a common term when studying population growth. This is the estimated time it would take for a given population to double. It is based on the annual growth rate and is calculated using the "Rule of 70".

(c) In which district of Assam Dibru-Choikhowa National Park is located?

Ans:- It is located in the Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts of Assam.

(d) Name the source of river Brahmaputra.

Ans:- The Brahmaputra River, also known as the Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibetan, originates from the Angsi Glacier on the northern edge of the Himalayas in Burang County, Tibet.

Ans:- There are three geographical factors affecting the distribution of population:

(i) Landform, (ii) Climate, (iii) Soil.

(c) What do you understand by population composition?

Ans:- Population structure refers to the specific characteristics of a population.

As if:

(i) Sex composition, it includes male-female ratio.

(ii) Age-composition, which includes- 0-14 years (Children), 15-59 years (Working group), 60 and above- (Older group.

(iii) Rural-Urban Structure

(iv) Literacy

(v) Occupational Structure

(d) Write the name of four pillars of Human Development.

Ans:- The basic components of human development are:

(i) equity

(ii) stability

(iii) Productivity

(iv) Jurisdiction

(e) Market gardening is practiced near urban areas. Why?

Ans:- Market gardening is mainly practiced for urban areas. This type of gardening requires very good transport links with the urban center where the high-income segment of the consumers are located. Horticulture produce is very expensive. Because it is labor and capital intensive and entails the use of irrigation, heavy seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, greenhouses, and artificial heating in the old field. These facilities are easily available only near urban areas. Hence market gardening is practiced near urban areas.
