(ii) Upper Secondary Stage: A 2-year specialized course (Grades XI and XII).

(c) Why is non-formal education considered as a flexible system of education?

Ans:- Non-formal education is considered flexible because it is not bound by the rigid and strict rules characteristic of regular formal schooling. It offers learners the freedom to choose the time, place, and pace of their studies, and adapts its curriculum to suit the specific needs, age, and life circumstances of the learners.

(d) “All open education is distance education, but all distance education is not open education.” Give two reasons.

Ans:- (i) Access and Criteria: Open education generally removes admission barriers, allowing anyone to enroll regardless of formal qualifications. Conversely, distance education often requires strict prerequisites (such as previous degrees or mark sheets) for admission.

Ans:- Women's empowerment refers to the process by which women gain power and control over their own lives. It involves enhancing their self-worth, decision-making capabilities, and access to equal opportunities (in education, employment, and politics), as well as addressing social inequalities and gender biases.
