(ii) Hooghly Industrial Region: Located along the banks of the Hooghly River in West Bengal, it is historically known for its jute industry, engineering goods, and paper mills.

Ans:- There are two main reasons for population growth:-

(i) High fertility rate: A consistently high rate of childbearing contributes significantly to natural population growth.

(ii) Declining death rate: Improvements in medical science, healthcare, sanitation, and epidemic control have significantly reduced the death rate, leading to increased human lifespan.

(d) Mention two oil refineries of Assam.

Ans:- Assam has two major oil refineries:-

(i) Digboi Refinery (located in Tinsukia district, India's oldest operational refinery).

(ii) Guwahati Refinery (located in Noonmati, Guwahati).

(e) What is retail trading service?

Ans:- Retail trading is a business activity that sells goods and services directly to end customers.
