(a) Why did
Kondrashkin call Pyotr dishonest?
Ans:-
Kondrashkin called Pyotr dishonest because Pyotr was spending all his time with
Nastya—eating with her and going out with her every evening—leading everyone to
believe they were about to get married. When Pyotr tried to avoid the marriage
proposal by making excuses, Kondrashkin accused him of "playing" with
the girl's feelings and behaving inappropriately.
(b) Why did
Pyotr say that he was unworthy of Nastya? How did Kondrashkin react to it?
Ans:-
Pyotr claimed that he wasn't worthy of Nastya because he was a "man with
bad habits"—specifically, he described himself as a heavy drinker—in order
to avoid marriage. However, Kondrashkin didn't buy it. He responded by saying
that he didn't believe Pyotr was a drunkard and dismissed this excuse,
insisting that Pyotr was still a good boy.
(c) Why does
Shaw call himself 'an educated man?
Ans:- In his
essay "Spoken English and Broken English," George Bernard Shaw calls
himself a learned man because he is a professional writer and speaker who
understands the nuances of the English language. He uses this title to
emphasize that even "educated" people like him don't speak privately
the way they do in public.
(d) How do

Ans:-

rejection—being seen by society as a person with bad manners.

the narrator feel no pain in the story, How it Happened?
Ans:- The
narrator, Stanley, felt no pain because he had actually died in a motor
accident. At the end of the story, he realizes he is talking to his dead friend
Perkins. The lack of physical sensation was the result of his consciousness
leaving his body after the fatal accident.
(g) What is
the food offered to the captive in the headman's house?
Ans:- In
the story "The Captive," the prisoner is given a meal of boiled rice
and lentils. This simple, local food illustrates the hospitality of the chief's
house, despite the prisoner's precarious situation.

the dress of a high-caste hill woman.
Ans:-

distinctive head scarf or veil. They also wear gold or silver jewelry, such as
nath (nose rings) and heavy necklaces, which reflect their social status.
