Ans:- The qualifier "open" of open education refers to the elimination of barriers that can prevent both participation opportunities and recognition in institution-based learning. One aspect of openness or "openness" in education is the development and adoption of open educational resources.

(i)     In which year 'Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Bill' was passed?

Ans:- Bill was passed in 2005.

(k)   Mention any one environmental factor of interest.

2.   What is ECCE?

Ans:- Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is a primary school preparation. Its mission is to create a solid and comprehensive foundation for lifelong learning and overall development of the child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs. The ECCE has the potential to be caring, competent and responsible for future citizens.

3.   What do you mean by vocationalization of Secondary Education?

Ans:- Vocationalisation of education means training in some vocations at the secondary, Higher Secondary level with general education. ... According to the recommendation of the Secondary Education Commission (1952-53), the aim of vocationalisation of education is to improve the vocational efficiency of the students.

What is ‘work experience' as suggested by Kothari Commission?

Ans:- Work experience should be offered as an integral part of all education; Simple and professional. Work experience means participating in productive work at school, at home, in a work shop, in a factory or in any other productive conditions.

4.   Why is Non-formal Education considered as a flexible system of education?

Ans:- Non-formal education (NFE) is simple and flexible and is convenient for learners. And it can be distributed anywhere. It is usually designed to meet the basic learning needs of disadvantaged groups and can be taken advantage of at any age.

5.   Write two characteristics of Distance Education.

Ans. Nature or Features of Distance Education –

1)     Distance education is a lifelong and continuous process.

2)     Each and every strata of society can join this type of education.

6.   What do you mean by Value Education?

Ans. The qualities or a characteristic which helps to make a person important, approachable, honourable, these qualities and characteristics are called as value.

      According to Godwin, “Value oriented education is a tool with the help of which an individual can carve his own status values are like most precious pearls in the character and personality on an individual.”

7.   "Learning depends upon maturation." Explain with example.

Ans:- Before we can learn anything, our sensory, motor and nervous structures must attain a certain level of maturity. In humans it is a bit complicated, the child's learning to walk can be attributed to maturity as the child learns to walk when he reaches a particular stage of development.

8.   "Attention is a selective process." Briefly explain.

Ans:- Selective attention refers to processes that allow a person to select and focus on particular inputs for further processing, while simultaneously suppressing irrelevant or distracting information.

9.  Mention two important characteristics of mental health.

Ans. Following are the characteristics of mental hygiene are –

1)        Mental hygiene is a well developed science.

2)        Mental hygiene deals with prevention of mental diseases and preservation of mental health.

10.    What do you mean by preservative function of mental hygiene?

Ans. The functions of mental hygiene may be discussed as below –

1)     Diagnostic and curative function: Diagnostic function of mental hygiene emphasis on diagnosis of causes and sources of mental problems such as maladjustment, mental illness, mental defect, mental disturbance, abnormalities etc. of the individual.

2)     Preventive function: Mental hygiene emphasis on the prevention of mental illness, personality disorders, problem of adjustment etc. of individual. It helps to understand the causes of mental illness, personality disorders, problem of adjustment etc.

3)     Preservative function: Preservative function of mental hygiene is specially concerned with both the welfare of human life and social life or welfare of society as well.

Ans. The main nature and characteristics of learning may be summarized as follows –

1)        Learning is an adjustment process. It is an act of adjustment of individual in his environment. It is the ability to make proper adjustment in the environment of modification of behaviour.

2)        Learning is growth. The child grows physically and mentally due to learning.
